After a Fashion: Design School Students Get Support in Chicago

Earning a degree in fashion before starting a career is smart, but it's not the only benefit of fashion design school. Major cities like Chicago make sure to showcase fashion students' designs at a number of major events before they even graduate.
Going to fashion design school is a great way to start a career in fashion.
Going to fashion design school in a major U.S. city, where fashion design has risen to a new and notable focus in the recent year, is an even better way to start a career in fashion.
The many benefits of fashion school are obvious: earning a degree, starting a portfolio of clothing designs, making connections--but simple exposure is another benefit that has many fashion design school students involved in major events before their careers have begun to take off.

Chicago's Fashion Focus

How about debuting your clothing designs at the Chicago Cultural Center? Four lucky students from Chicago fashion design schools got to showcase their designs in the "Tapestry Fashion Show and Student Design Competition" in October. This represents one of many ways in which the newly fashion-conscious Chicago supports the new careers of emerging designers and fashion design school students.
Fashion Focus Chicago did the same in September of this year, giving established and new designers, as well as students, the coveted chance to show their clothing designs in exhibits and runway shows. "The turnout was amazing," said Chicago Fashion Advisory Councils director Melissa Turner to Women's Wear Daily.
The chance to show your clothing designs to an "amazing" turnout at a major fashion event in a major metropolitan event is--well, major. Getting a fashion design degree in Chicago may be the smartest career move you ever make!
