Rum-Inspired Fashion Design? It Works in Toronto

A young Canadian fashion designer achieved a new kind of fashion design fame last month when she won the Bacardi Breezer® design award. Through innovative fashion design and marketing, she used Bacardi flavors to create a new clothing design, beating out almost 50 other contestants.

Guanabana & Pineapple, and Blood Orange, Mango & Peach--these were Tara White's inspirations for her award-winning clothing design. Her creation was a beach garment designed to fit women of all sizes. It was a clothing design said by a marketing manager at Bacardi to capture the free spirit of the brand and its new flavors.
Ms. White's success shows that fashion design jobs can start from just about anywhere. She used the contest guidelines to develop a smart clothing design that met the fashion marketing needs of the company.

Contests: Good for the Fashion Design Career

Aside from the award, the fame, and the glamorous party she got to attend, Ms. White will also receive a VIP sponsorship at L'Oreal Fashion Week in Toronto next year. It's a fashion design job worth competing for, and not a bad deal for entering a fashion design contest.
Plenty of big names in Toronto fashion design will be at Fashion Week. By winning this contest, Ms. White not only started her career in fashion design and fashion marketing, but got herself the first of many fashion design jobs.
Ms. White has officially begun her fashion design career in Toronto, an established fashion design hub of Canada. It just goes to show what a little fashion design contest can do.
