Something Fashionable for Everyone in Toronto

As big brand names in fashion settle in at restaurants, cafes, and boutiques across Toronto, any fashion design enthusiast can see the city's fabulous future. From fashion design schools to creative career options, Toronto has a lot to offer.
Pursuing a career in fashion takes not only determination but also the right setting. Many fashion school students and designers alike have chosen Toronto for their careers. Here are some of the reasons why.

For Fashion School Students

For Matt Donnelly, fashion design student and designer of women's dresses, having a mentor is one of the best parts of fashion school. It doesn't hurt that he attends school in a major fashion hub like Toronto, either. Toronto is a center for the Canada fashion scene and a great place to find just the right design mentor.

For Fashion Designers

Designer Joe Fresh chose Toronto as his fashion design home for its unique atmosphere. Taking a cue from the affordable fashion trends made famous by stores like H&M and Uniqlo, Joe Fresh sells his designs in smaller, boutique-like settings within larger Canadian "Superstores."

For Fashion Futures in Toronto

Toronto is also home to a number of career opportunities available after fashion school, including great retail settings in which to sell your designs. Shopping malls like Bayview Village leave behind the conventional American concept of a mall for a more European, shop-lined-street feel with a greater fashion focus.
Retail settings like Bayview Village also support unique fashion merchandising, too--a topic not to be overlooked at fashion school. The more retail opportunities a city has, the greater number of outlets for exposure your clothing designs or fashion accessories will have.
